BEST CAMPING PLACE IN CANADA
My partner and I stayed in one of the glamping tents over the past long weekend. It was absolutely magical. The bed is very comfortable, lots of room to walk around inside and hide from the rain if it comes.
The sauna was incredible and the cold plunge / lake was absolutely perfect to dip in.
We had the wood fire pizza made perfectly from the owners. Keith and Caitlin are excellent hosts and enjoy taking us around the walking trails and seeing the sheep.
We are shifting our family reunion to this location to utilize their very large very warm feeling venue chalet hall.
All in all 10/10.
Get yourself to Herman Lake!
Our family of 4 camped late May in one of the convenient glamping tents. The queen bed was comfortable, a game changer for a non-camping person like myself. The kids slept soundly on the large cots, falling asleep to a relaxing frog choir and waking to bird song.
We loved jumping off the dock and paddle boarding the lake. We spotted busy beavers slapping their tails. The fireflies put on a show for us at night and were pure magic.
One night the owners were cooking woodfire pizzas at the lodge. Delish!
Using the woodfire sauna and staring out the window at a beautiful lake full of wildlife was a highlight. Moose routinely wander by so be on the lookout.
This trip was so good for our family because we could slow down, relax, and connect while telling ghost stories by the fire. The kids enjoyed the playground, building forts, meeting a newborn lamb and baby turtles.
We are already planning a summer visit back to Herman Lake Wilderness Campground.
Awesome!
We loved camping on Caitlin’s land! She was so so sweet and informative, and there was lots to do and see (if only we had more than just an overnight!). Our site was right next to a sauna, and overlooked a cute little marshy lake. We walked around and checked out the neighbouring sites available, and they all looked really cute. Pets are allowed, we had our 2 huskies with us! There’s a coin shower, a dock, sheep, turtles, a playground, fire pits, an outhouse with a cushy seat. The sound of frogs croaking throughout the night:) highly recommend staying here, and we will keep them in mind for next time we visit out that way. Thanks so much for the lovely evening Caitlin!
