About Us

Herman Lake Wilderness Campground 2.0 officially opened May 2025, when the McEwen family (Caitlin, Keith, Layla and Talia) brought it back to life after a 14 year hiatus from the previous owners. We had big dreams to find a large acreage and create a place of community and host local events like wellness retreats and small weddings etc. When we found this property for sale by owner back in November of 2024, we just knew it was meant to be! We are big on family around here, so be prepared to meet our whole family while you are enjoying your stay, including the property dogs and cats.

Herman Lake is such a magical place, and we want to share all the beauty and serenity this place has to offer. We love meeting all the campers from all over the country, and watching them enjoy their stay on our property is truly our favourite thing. Before we purchased Herman Lake Wilderness Campground, we spent countless evenings walking through a local campground on the Sunshine Coast, admiring everyone’s unique camping setups and dreaming about creating a place of our own someday. Camping has always been a treasured activity for us, and we feel incredibly grateful to be living that dream every day.

We’re passionate about creating a welcoming, memorable experience for our guests. We’ll continue improving and adding to the property so there’s always something new to enjoy at Herman Lake.

Nestled in the heart of the Shuswap, Herman Lake Wilderness Campground is a place to slow down, reconnect, and enjoy the simple beauty of the outdoors. Whether you’re pitching a tent under the stars, glamping, relaxing by the lake, or gathering around the campfire with family and friends, our campground was created for people who love nature, adventure, and a little peace and quiet. At Herman Lake, we believe the best memories are made outside, with fresh air, good company, and wilderness right at your doorstep.

Whether you’re here for swimming, fishing, stargazing, watching the fireflies, or just relaxing in a lawn chair, we’re glad you found your way to Herman Lake!
